Work in
and Outside
the Classroom
I love teaching in Early Years. I think that it is especially important that young children have male educational role models - something that is sadly lacking in Nursery and Reception education. Here are some photos of me working with my fabulous classes over the years in the environment that I love - both indoors and outdoors.

In our class there are frequent opportunities to share experiences with our peers.

We play circle games to allow us to understand we all need to co-operate for things to work.

Our curriculum is tied closely to seasonal change and we learn what we need to do to successfully live in the world around us.

Positive
Behavioural Support
I have used William Glasser's 'Choice Theory' principles to support positive behavioural support in my classrooms throughout the years. Choice Theory suggests behaviour is driven to satisfy the basic human needs of Empowerment, Belonging, Freedom, Fun and Survival. Providing support for these basic needs help children to fulfil their potential and supports good behaviour choices.
